Are You Green With Envy? We Are!

World renowned supermodel Janice Dickinson hosted the first Green with Envy Fashion Experience featuring our designs plus many other eco-conscious brands. Celebrities and socialites enjoyed music, food and fashions at the swanky House of Petals in Los Angeles.

Various fashions from casual to formal were unveiled striking the crowd. We love to see designers and fashions moving towards eco-conscious design and manufacture. These articles were fashion forward: designed with the future, style and lifestyle in mind.

We are excited to be a part of this event and are looking to become more involved in these great shows. With our Green Goddess line coming out in the near future, you will see our designs more in the mainstream fashion world. We always want to hear what you want. So send us an email and tell us what you want out of a conscious line of fashion oriented accessories and bags!

3G iPhone Sleeve Development

For all you iPhone fanatics, we know you either have one or are waiting in anticipation for July 11th and the 3G iPhone. We are totally excited.

We are so psyched about this device that we decided to develop the coolest, recycled iPhone sleeve case ever. Not only will this protect your investment, but it will help reduce materials polluting landfills.

We want your input. What do you want from a iPhone sleeve? Would you like it to have colorful billboard on the outside, or sleek black PET (recycled water bottles)? Soft PET fleece, or recycled foam? This is your chance to tell us what you want. So send e-mails, write comments, let us know.

This is going to be a very limited product, so pay attention and we will inform you when we are going live with this great design.

Teva Mountain Games

Come visit the road crew this weekend for the Teva Mountain Games in Vail, CO. We have partnered with Teva to bring you some of the coolest bags that we have produced to date. Using the promotional banners, from last years event, we made a bunch of really cool and vibrant bags that we are really proud of, and they will be available for purchase at the Games.

No but honestly...these bags are SICK, but very limited, so come get your hands one before they are all gone.

We are also going to be saving hundreds of pounds of waste from land fills by resourcing all of this year's Teva event banners to make bags for corporate gifts and promotional items. Awesome! It takes cool partnerships with great companies like Teva to really "close the loop" and make a difference!

The Green Guru both will be part of the "Greenlight district" in "Gear Town" and the event will going on all weekend:

Friday, June 6th: 11am-5pm
Saturday, June 7th: 9am-5pm
Sunday, June 8th: 9am-4pm

Come watch world class climbers, bikers, runners and kayakers as they put it all on the line in name of a good time. A special thanks to Lara Bar, Outside Magazine, Climbing Magazine, Urban Climber, Pabst Blue Ribbon, SoBe, all of the other great sponsors and Vail Resorts for making it all happen. So if you want to come hang out, pick-up a bag, or just play in the sun a bit, we would love to see you there!

Larimer Square - La Piazza del'Arte

Arte, Arte, Arte! You like art? You like eco? You are like us.

Artists from all over the map will be gathering in Larimer Square this weekend (June 7th & 8th) to create beautiful works of art using sidewalk chalk. Kid stuff you say? Well, yes there is a kids corner too for the young aspiring chalk artist in your family. Come for the art and stay for a wine dinner at the Capital Grille Sunday, June 8th, 7:00 PM, $125.00 per person, inclusive.

Yet another great event sponsored by Green Guru! Along with food vendors and amazing scenery you can't beat an afternoon downtown. We made custom bags for the event out of the street banners from Larimer Square and we will be reclaiming and re-purposing all the banners from this years event as well. (More waste saved from clogging up land fills)

La Piazza dell'Arte is produced by the Larimer Arts Association, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization committed to art education and awareness in downtown Denver. And they are working with Green Making taking the necessary steps to have a green event.
They will:

- Recycle all cardboard, plastic and glass used during the event
- Obtain and reuse "unusable" carpet samples and remnants for artist kneeling pads
- Require food vendors to use recycled flatware and paper products
- Minimize the power usage required of diesel-operated generators
- Reuse their street banners from previous years (Thanks to Green Guru)
- Involve eco-friendly sponsors (That's us!)

We think this is a really cool event and hope to see more communities gathering like this. So join us this weekend for a excellent event in historic downtown Denver! Oh and check out these bags we made for the event!

Ele: Vision Grande

Wail-on Waylon! Talk about meeting with like-minded people. Once again, we had the opportunity to help support our local friends "Elephant Magazine". The beautiful, independent Boulder Theater played host for the launching of Elephant's most recent issue and the Green Guru Crew was on scene to 'Rock out Green'.

With a powerful line up of interviews, a political debate between the candidates for the 2nd congressional district, music from members of The Motet, an Eco-fashion/lingerie show (and an open bar!) the night had a little something for everybody.

Our very own Shannon Slopey modeled some hot eco-chic clothing from The Buffalo Exchange and a Green Guru Small Deluxe Billboard Messenger bag which she looked amazing in (of course).

A special thanks to the Ele crew members that helped with set up and to the Bar keep who kept everyone "hydrated" until the late hours of the night.

What a great time! We hope to see you all there next month when it all goes down again!

Dirt Days @ NCAR

An appropriate titled event as we do enjoy dirt and being dirty. It is not only a state of mind, but a state of being. One learns to love the dirt as it goes hand in hand with the recycling and reclamation process. Yet, I digress.

The same great folks that puts on the Boulder Adventure Film Festival held this great event at NCAR, National Center for Atmospheric Research, in Boulder. Designed by famous architect I. M. Pei, NCAR stands majestically in the foothills of the Flatirons. Attracting quite a crowd, Dirt Days was a fun event on a beautiful Colorado day.

Not just any beautiful Colorado day, but our favorite celebrated day: Earth Day. There were all sorts of cool things to do while attending this event from rock climbing to water bottle rocket liftoffs. Ecologic Designs' Eco Ambulance graced the merchant area with our new products manufactured from reclaimed and recycled materials. Not only did we have our products, but we also had reclamation bins set out for various materials. We provide these cool bins to any company that has a lot of material to recycle.

Again a great event and thanks to all those who contributed. So we go on, a little dirty, yet fully enthusiastic.

Seattle Green Festival

After a great Green Festival in Seattle, the Road Crew is back from a long trip. We managed to drive from Colorado to Seattle and back with all our products, booth materials, over 60 gallons of fuel, and three guys. Well, we didn't come back with nearly as much product or fuel, but that was planned.

Thanks to our friends at Propel Biofuels, we fueled up with B99, which is 99% pure biodiesel, at their new station on Leary in Ballard. Not only did this get us moving for many sustainable miles, but we found a really cool Biodiesel sticker right on the side of their pump. So grab some domesticly made fuel and show your support for this biofuel revolution!

We must say, it was hard to leave. Thanks again to Propel Biofuels, and the Green Festival crews. We look forward to bringing Green Guru Gear back to the Pacific Northwest next year and years to come!
