Dirt Days @ NCAR

An appropriate titled event as we do enjoy dirt and being dirty. It is not only a state of mind, but a state of being. One learns to love the dirt as it goes hand in hand with the recycling and reclamation process. Yet, I digress.

The same great folks that puts on the Boulder Adventure Film Festival held this great event at NCAR, National Center for Atmospheric Research, in Boulder. Designed by famous architect I. M. Pei, NCAR stands majestically in the foothills of the Flatirons. Attracting quite a crowd, Dirt Days was a fun event on a beautiful Colorado day.

Not just any beautiful Colorado day, but our favorite celebrated day: Earth Day. There were all sorts of cool things to do while attending this event from rock climbing to water bottle rocket liftoffs. Ecologic Designs' Eco Ambulance graced the merchant area with our new products manufactured from reclaimed and recycled materials. Not only did we have our products, but we also had reclamation bins set out for various materials. We provide these cool bins to any company that has a lot of material to recycle.

Again a great event and thanks to all those who contributed. So we go on, a little dirty, yet fully enthusiastic.

Seattle Green Festival

After a great Green Festival in Seattle, the Road Crew is back from a long trip. We managed to drive from Colorado to Seattle and back with all our products, booth materials, over 60 gallons of fuel, and three guys. Well, we didn't come back with nearly as much product or fuel, but that was planned.

Thanks to our friends at Propel Biofuels, we fueled up with B99, which is 99% pure biodiesel, at their new station on Leary in Ballard. Not only did this get us moving for many sustainable miles, but we found a really cool Biodiesel sticker right on the side of their pump. So grab some domesticly made fuel and show your support for this biofuel revolution!

We must say, it was hard to leave. Thanks again to Propel Biofuels, and the Green Festival crews. We look forward to bringing Green Guru Gear back to the Pacific Northwest next year and years to come!

Seattle Green Festival is the Best Of All

Coming soon (April 12th, 13th) to a Washington State Convention and Trade Center near you: The Seattle Green Festival!

We are very excited to announce our soon to be arrival in the Seattle metropolitan area this Thursday in preparation for a weekend of environmentally friendly eventage. Not only is a Green Festivals event, but this is the first for Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. This most certainly is a big deal!

We know this green festival will rock. So if you are in town, drop on by for a great time in a cool city. We are in booth 315 describing and displaying our gear and clothing.

What a World Wellness Weekend

We had a great time at the World Wellness Weekend in Albuquerque, NM. Not only was it a fun, educational event but the Michael Franti concert was way cool!

Our trip was precluded by an alarming chilly morning and a road tour vehicle that wouldn't start. Our vegetable powered ambulance was out of commission. Nonetheless, we made it to the event on time. Our intrepid crew member, Justin, replaced the injection pump, which pressurizes the biodiesel and WVO into the cylinders, not a small job by any means.

Yet another great event. We will be on the road soon for the Seattle Green Festival happening the 12th and 13th of April.

The Recycle X-Games

Green Guru was back on campus this week! This time we were there to support our friends in the CU Recycling Center by sponsoring the annual Recycle X-Games! The event was action packed with a variety of games for students, faculty, and campus visitors. From "Recycle Pong" to "The Dumpster Dive" there was no shortage of creative games to participate in.

As the leading sponsor of the event, Green Guru provided a prize for the winner of each event and a Grand Prize Messenger Bag for the person who had the highest cumulative score from all the events.

Outreach events like this are really fun for us to do. We are continually working to strengthen and support our community and develop partnerships with like-minded people and organizations.

We had a blast talking to everyone at the event. It's great to hear all the stories that people had to share with us about what they are doing individually to make a difference in their own communities and neighborhoods. Keep it up!

As for us, we will continue to support the conscious Colorado campus community, and our friends in the CU Environmental Center who are working hard to make CU a sustainable place with a zero carbon footprint. That's a goal that we can all support...Go CU!
