Greening Up Sundance

Green Guru is proud have had the opportunity to help green up this year's Sundance Film Festival by partnering up with EconsciousMarket to support the first annual Giving Suite this January 17 to 27, 2008.

Following the mantra of 'Giving Is The New Getting,' green vendors came together to turn the concept of a gifting suite right side up and were able to produce the festival's first eco-boutique featuring sustainable products. Putting the power back into the hands of the consumer, 100 percent of the profits were donated to the VIP buyer's nonprofit of their choice.

The Giving Suite was really well received by the Sundance community. All the Green Guru Gear that we brought to Park City ended up selling out before the festival was even over! We are looking forward to being part of next year's Giving Suite and continuing to work with Econscious and all of the other great vendors that participated in this years event.

Also a special thanks to Jen Murphy from Afterglow Mineral Cosmetics, another featured Econscious vendor, who helped give Green Guru a strong presence at the suite while supporting Econscious by helping operate things on the ground in Park City.

Solio gaining exposure

Our good friends at Solio have recently gotten some great press in the New York Times. Their Solio Hybrid 1000 and two other competing solar chargers were reviewed by a family hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro. Check out the positive things they have to say. Great stuff guys. Keep it up!
